The assessment process is set by ALLMI Ltd and administered by the Instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessment consists of a set of core multiple choice and ‘open’ questions, as well as questions which relate specifically to the crane attachment being used. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to operate a lorry loader safely and efficiently.
Upon successful completion of the course, every candidate will receive an identity card and certificate and will be registered on the ALLMI Operator database. Click here to see the ALLMI identity card and certificate The certificate and identity card are valid for five years after which time refresher training and assessments will need to be undertaken. Both the identity card and certificate state the categories for which the operator is licensed (please click here to see the ALLMI Training Categories). Candidates also receive the ALLMI Operator’s manual, which is used as a reference guide throughout their career. Click here to see the ALLMI Operator' s manual
The strength of ALLMI training comes from the technical and training knowledge on its Training Standards Committee. The Committee is made up of training and technical professionals from all the major loader crane manufacturers and importers within the UK. In addition the Health and Safety Executive is represented. The Committee develops, consults upon and maintains all the training standards set by ALLMI. Click here to see the ALLMI Training Standards Committee members.
ALLMI Operator training is the UK’s only lorry loader training programme to be commended by the Health & Safety Executive. Please click here for further information on ALLMI’s HSE commendation.
