| Appointed Person Training Course |

ALLMI is currently in the process of developing an Appointed Person (AP) training course specifically for lorry loader operations. Headed by ALLMI's Technical Director, Alan Johnson, an AP working group has been busy developing the course material, the first draft of which is expected to be complete by the early stages of quarter two 2010. Alan Johnson comments "we've made excellent progress with the development of the course in recent months and the experience and knowledge of working group members has proved invaluable. This will be the only accredited AP course in the UK which is dedicated to lorry loader operations and so we anticipate a high demand for the training, especially with the introduction of the new BS7121 Part 4 which places a much greater emphasis on formal lift planning and the role of the Appointed Person. We already have many interested parties awaiting the launch of the course, which we hope will take place towards the end of June this year." |
